Newport Tea Caddy

Patterned after the Block and Shell form created by Newport cabinetmaker John Townsend, is the Newport Shell and Block Tea Caddy/Jewelry Box replica. By the early 1700's tea leaves were kept under lock and key in beautifully constructed chests. These containers reflected both the status of the tea and of the household.

The Newport Shell Block Tea Caddy/Jewelry Box is complete with solid brass hardware throughout, hand finished out of mahogany, has a double compartment interior with lids and a working exterior key. This tea caddy would display well on our Oxbow Chest and with the Phoenix Looking Glass.
