Shelf Clock

Shelf clocks or Mantel clocks were created to give visual eye pleasure, but also to be affordable to the ordinary working person. They were made to be displayed in a more convenient location than more expensive clocks of grander proportions. The Willards of Massachusetts were responsible for the early development of the shelf clock. As might be expected, more expensive wall clocks began to be supplanted by the cost effective shelf clocks. This reproduction antique replica shelf clock is hand made, and finished out of American Curly Maple. Our replica combines 19th century charm with a 21st century German Quartz Movement. Looks great on an Oxbow Chest-of-Drawers, a Queen Anne Lowboy or on a Federal Sideboard.
